Love Capacity

My last post has had me thinking about the other favorite things I’ve seen in the Akashic Records, and I think my very favorite is this – that most of us have only reached ten percent of our capacity to love and be loved. That’s pretty exciting.

Even better? That our capacity to love others is about ten times greater than our need to be loved by others.

Yes, that’s right – ten times greater.

What if we all start striving to finally release our immense capacity for love? You want to talk about abundance? There it is. If we all give ten times more than we need, abundance is the only thing that is possible. And according to the Records, the giving actually fulfills us.

When I first saw this in the Akashic Records, the way it was shown was in the image of a young child. When love is withheld, such as from an abusive parent, the child’s capacity to love that parent far exceeds the fear of abuse. A child will often fight to stay with an abusive parent, not because they think that parent will change. Children fight to stay close to the people they love. We were all born with an enormous need to feel love for others. It is an energy that is meant to pour out of us and into the world in every moment.

My grandmother always said, “Never suppress a generous thought.” I realize now that this advice wasn’t given so I could help others. It was given for my own good. I need to have love pouring out of me in order to be happy and healthy. I was born with this capacity, and so were you.

So open the flow of love in your life. Say the kind word that comes to your mind, take an extra moment to smile, or write a note to someone who is on your mind. If you are rejected, just remember – the love you have for the world is bigger than your need to be accepted. Try again!

Hard-Wired for Love

One of my favorite channelings from the Akashic Records is the Healing the Human Family Series. I channeled this about two years ago, and I just love listening to it. The title alone, Healing the Human Family, gives me a smile. The way I choose topics for channelings from the Akashic Records is by asking the Records directly what needs to be channeled in the coming months. Then I plan a channeling event to access that topic and answer questions brought by participants.

When I first saw this topic in the Records, I sort of got a crush on it. It’s just the sweetest idea to me to think of all of us in one, big family together. Just like lots of smaller family groups, the Human Family is messy, but it’s filled with love.

I listen to the Healing the Human Family Series because it gives me hope for things that otherwise break my heart and overwhelm me – subjects like racism, sexism, homophobia, and religious intolerance.

The Akashic Records continually repeat the idea that our core nature is to be compassionate and kind. In fact, we’re made for it. Our minds and bodies are actually built to experience love and compassion. In Healing the Human Family, the Records outline how we lose access to our inherent compassion because we forget our true nature when we’ve been hurt. This series specifically explains how we are hurt in ways that teach us to compete with others based on race, gender, socioeconomic class, and religion.

The Healing the Human Family channelings are unique because they give us a perspective on how things like racism and classism fit in the spiritual evolution of humanity. What I love most about these channelings is the way they outline the big picture of human evolution all the way down to the everyday details of how we can heal this in our lives.

Like so many truths, this is being discovered and discussed in many ways across the world. Because I’m a scientist at heart, I especially love this example:

(OK, I also love the snarky cartoon animation.)

Healing oppression in our everyday lives is the tricky part, isn’t it? It’s easy enough to love the idea of the Human Family, but when we try to conceive of seven billion family members, with all the layers of pain and bad behavior that includes…… well, it’s overwhelming, to say the least!

I love the Healing the Human Family Series because it tells us exactly how our everyday actions can help dismantle oppression and pain. The Akashic Records help me see the big picture, which can be reassuring. And they help me see that my small part is meaningful, which is empowering. It is such a relief for me to consider that, just like any family, the Human Family is filled with mistakes and pain, and in even greater part filled with love and compassion. In fact, we’re wired for it!
